In a groundbreaking event held in Ogun State, Melanie Ayoola, Executive Director, Tranter Group, joined industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to celebrate the launch of Heifer Nigeria’s Solar-Powered Irrigation Pumps (SPIPs) Initiative.


The event, which brought together prominent leaders and stakeholders, including Mrs. Kehinde Jokotoye, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Ogun State, Dr. Lekan Tobe, Country Director, Heifer International Nigeria, and other distinguished figures in Nigeria’s agriculture sector, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards sustainable agriculture, empowering smallholder farmers, and enhancing food security.


Heifer Nigeria’s Solar-Powered Irrigation Pumps Initiative aims to revolutionize farming practices by providing cost-effective, eco-friendly, and efficient irrigation systems.

Speaking at the event, Melanie Ayoola delivered a goodwill message, expressing her excitement about the potential of technology-driven solutions to transform agriculture in Nigeria. She remarked:

"I am happy this is coming at a time like this where technology-driven solutions are pertinent to business success. I know that this technology will not only make farming easy but also help save costs."


Melanie also highlighted the critical need for partnerships and collaborations in the agricultural sector, emphasizing TranterAgriventure’s readiness to engage with stakeholders across Nigeria to address the nation’s unique farming challenges. During her address, she unveiled Bio.Soilz and Bio.Plantz, two cutting-edge solutions from Tranter Agriventure, a newly established subsidiary of the Tranter Group.

Melanie also announced the ongoing onboarding partnership with Heifer International Nigeria, expressing optimism about the collaboration. She noted: "It’s interesting to note that you all will be the first to publicly hear about the Bio.Soilz and Bio.Plantz project in Nigeria."


During an interview with Ogun State Television, Melanie emphasized TranterAgriventure’s commitment to empowering farmers with innovative technologies:

She recognized her team of experts from Tranter Group’s subsidiaries who made it to the event. Victor Azunnaya (Agric Specialist, Tranter Agriventure), Abraham Efunbajo (Head IoT Technical, IoT Africa Networks Limited), Tolulope Fajana (Agric Specialist, Tranter Agriventure) and Josephine Lopez (Public Relations and Partnerships Executive, Tranter IT).
